Connect Android to Ad-hoc

Android mobile phones with stock firmware don't come with support to connect to ad-hoc connections. This has become very problematic to Android users. Although for some custom rom for e.g. Cyanogenmod latest rom there is a built in support for the phone to connect to ad-hoc connections. So in order to connect your android to ad-hoc, you need some simple steps.:

1.Root your android:
Download SuperOneClick software frome here and open SuperOneClick.exe file to root your phone. Or simply google to get instructed on how to root android.

2.User Root Explorer:
Download Root Exploer app from here and copy the file named wpa supplicant (downloaded from here) to /system/bin and set permission to 'read', 'write' and 'execute'.

3.Restart your device
Restart your device so that wpa supplicant will be refreshed. Try connecting to ad-hoc connection and feel happy and thank me :)

  1. As wpa_supplicant is a binary. It can create issues with different versions of Android. With which version of Android did you do this?
